Joe Ridge - ENGL243 Sonnet

I reside in a dank and dismal park
that sad flower you see as you walk by
poor thing slowly wilting dead in the dark
it is without the sun so it will die
I am drifting nowhere on a dead sea
a boat whose sail does not so much as flap
stranded in the ocean no land to see
there is no wind to save me from this trap
I am alone in a dark cold switch yard
a lone locomotive completely still
into immobility rusting hard
no fire to fuel it up one last hill
you were what gave me all my energy
now you are gone so I will cease to be
