Peter Kennedy - Ode to the Queen

In she,
who is to me
the pinnacle of perfection
there is a trap,
for this poor chap
from which I have no protection

She touches my soul,
and fills the hole
that gives my life it's meaning.
This is not a role
she has want to hold
even when she is dreaming.

Because she's great
she does rate
as one of my dearest friends.
If her this tale I told
it certainly would forbode
our friendship reaching it's end.

So I remain quiet
despite the riot
of my conflicting emotions.
I want to yell,
but I do not tell
her of my vast devotion.

Until she can see,
in a different light me
just her friend I will remain.
I'll entertain no notions,
nor make any motions
towards a romantic gain
no matter what the pain
No Matter What the PAIN.
